Sexual Health

"Sexual Health is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality...
Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence.” (WHO, 2006a)

Sexual health relates to many things.  When you hear the word "sexual health" you may think it's merely about sex, but it's much more than that!

Sexual health is important... Think about sexuality, gender identity, body health & image, reproduction, consent, relationships & intimacy, pleasure and much more. Sexual health is important because it enables people to take charge of their reproductive health and their emotional wellbeing, including their relationships.

Sexual health services are free and available to anyone, no matter their sex, age, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

  • Having sex? Get FREE contraception  and FREE condoms.
  • Worried about Sexually transmitted Infections (STIs)? Get FREE STI testing at home (Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C) or visit your nearest sexual health clinic. Sexual health clinics also have special arrangements for those who have disabilities or whose first language is not English. If you would rather just test for HIV, then this service may suit you better.
  • If you are a Richmond resident you can also sign up for a C-Card, have lubricant and STI testing delivered to their home for free, from Get it, by METRO. This will be anonymous and in a discreet packaging.
