South West London Health Care Plan
The South West London Health and Care Partnership is an organisation comprising the ones that deliver health and care in South West London's six Boroughs.

Through the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector, this Partnership allows Kingston, Richmond and four more areas (Croydon, Sutton, Merton & Wandsworth) to work together and keep local people healthy.

In November 2016, the South West London Health and Care Partnership has created a South West London Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP). In November 2017, they refreshed the strategy in order to develop Local Health and Care Plans. Each area faces different challenges in terms of health and social care, which these plans want to specifically address.
In May 2019, Youth Out Loud! was asked to review the 'Start Well' section on the draft plans for Kingston and Richmond. The Kingston & Richmond Youth Council also contributed with great new ideas that were implemented in the final plan, such as:
  • Children and young people struggle to get a diagnosis (for conditions like ADHD or ASD), to navigate the heath and care system, to access crisis support or to transition to adults services
  • Mental health awareness and education in schools
The South West London Health and Care Partnership took YOL! and KRYC's advice on. Among the changes they have made these included:
  • Improving the neurodevelopmental pathway for young people before and after a diagnosis
  • Looking to commission a consistent out of hour crisis service specifically for children and young people
  • Improving mental health promotion with partners in schools
  • Making commissioning of CAMHS services more consistent

The final plans were published in Autumn 2019. In the meantime, you can read more about them HERE. You can also watch the video that was made by the Partnership; YOL! is there!
