Making a Video on Bereavement and Bereavement Services

In May 2024 YOL! will be creating a video for young people on Bereavement. The content of the video will be designed and created by young people for young people. The outcome will be a video that helps young people understand bereavement a little better and signpost to services for those that want to know more.

Your role with the rest of the group will be to help choose the subject of the video. How will we approach the subject of bereavement and create a story that young people can understand? Once we have chosen a topic within bereavement (like how to have a difficult conversation or what does bereavement look like) we will script the video. The previous videos have been a conversation between young people about the subject. How would young people talk about it? What words would they use? Finally we will film and record the content needed for our film maker to create the video.

Four weeks of designing a video will take place from Wednesday 1st May until Wednesday 22nd May 5pm - 6pm and an evening of filming will take place on Wednesday 29th May at a location in central Kingston from 5pm - 8pm with dinner provided by Healthwatch Kingston.
